WHAT IS AGRICULTURAL BIOCHEMISTRY?
Agricultural Biochemistry is the study of both chemistry and biochemistry which are important in agricultural production, the processing of raw products into foods and beverages, and in environmental monitoring and remediation. These studies emphasize the relationship between plants, animals and bacteria and their environment.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE:
This course will provide an introduction to the subject of biochemistry from the perspective that will be particularly applicable to agricultural scientist. It will focus on the chemistry of plant and animal metabolism and the biomolecules that are involved in these pathways.
Discuss strategies plants and animals adopt for processing of nutrients , the adaptation of these organism to environmental condition and the ways in which new genetic engineering techniques can be used to manipulate growth. The graduate level course explores the biochemical underpinning of agriculture and food production, and provides a broad survey of biochemistry with selected topics under the broad field of agriculture.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
Agricultural chemists work with food producers to increase yields, improved quality, and reduce costs. They also study the causes and effects of bio-chemical reactions related to plant and animal growth, seek ways to control these reactions and develop chemical products that provide help in controlling these reactions
WHO CAN APPLY FOR THIS COURSE:
As the name suggests only those who took up science stream can apply for this course. Because science is the core subject of this course.
After completing under graduation candidates has a broad option of doing masters in this field. To do masters one has to hold under graduation in any one of the subjects mentioned below
